PEACE WITH LOVE

11″ x 13″ Mixed Media on Wood

All for peace, but only with love. Won’t get peace dropping bombs from above. It will not happen if in God’s name you kill. Stab a man, shoot a man, it’s your brother’s blood you spill. Peace isn’t something you can fight for. Peace isn’t something found by winning in war. Peace is found by the love from within. Love your brothers and your sisters and we all win. Peace is there to share in a song. Grab your friends hands and we’ll all sing along. All for peace, but only with love. Put your guns down and give someone a hug. Stop the fussin’ and fightin’ and give it all a rest. When peace is found through love it’s at its very best. All for peace, but only with love. FoR PeaCe WiTH LoVe!!!

IF I COULD SEE THE WIND

18″ x 18″ Mixed Media on Board

Whispers of you in the breeze. Coolness of your presence on my skin. Salt in the air by the beach. Never seen, but you are there. Carry me away to where the breeze is warm. Pushing waves into sand into words.  Let me smell and taste the salt of your air. Eyes wide open blind to your stare. Never seen, but you are there.

GOING BLIND

18″ Mixed Media on Wood

Deep breaths struggle to mask panic dancing nerve endings. They just keep firing and firing. Breathe in… breathe out. Would it feel the same if she didn’t know what he was like? If she didn’t know what it could be like? Breathe in… She is going blind. Has it all, but looks for more. Going blind anticipating what’s in store, the possibilities. So tense it hurts her skin. Breathe out… Searching to find the stomach pains of the best kind. Ones that let you know you’re in love. Ones that make you feel hungry even though you just ate. Breathe in… But maybe there is something to the way things are. Breathe out… Maybe she doesn’t want the pains of love to ever go away. Breathe in… Maybe she’ll sit on this feeling because not knowing, the possibilities are endless. Breathe out…

UNCHAINED

16″ x 18″ Mixed Media on Wood

Letting go is the hardest thing you’ll ever do when you’re torn apart with a breaking heart. Fears trickle in to spaces of your mind you’ve never used for thinking. Moments of time replayed on the backs of eyelids blinking. Every picture, every show, every song is a reminder of a reminder of a reminder of what used to be us. Sitting on the shower floor is just… the only thing that makes sense. Tears get pushed down cheeks, lips and drains. Hearts bleed the pain of every emotion becoming detached from every memory that you don’t want to let go of. You are unchained.

STAND IN LOVE

6″ x 36″ Mixed Media on Wood

Stand in love, don’t fall. Don’t let negative evolve. Stand in love, be strong. Listen to the heart’s song. Stand in love by me. We can do anything. Stand in love hand in hand. Walk side by side through this land. Stand in love, don’t fall.  Nothing too big, nothing too small. Stand in love with me forever and we will have it all.

SEE YOU THRU THE CAP

12″ x 18″ Mixed Media on Wood

Something in the way. See you though the crap. Something in his face. Just give him a slap. Temptations can be the downfall or they could be the start. Everything starts somewhere. Something’s tugging on his heart. Feel it when the wind blows. See you through the storm. See your little kindnesses that will keep him warm. He knows what he should do. She knows she’s right for you. She’ll see you through the darkness and guide you to the light. He’ll give in to your heart. It won’t even be a fight.

THE EXCHANGE

11″ x 13″ Mixed Media on Acrylic

“This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind…let it be something good.”

GIVING

18″ x 30″ Mixed Media on Board

She keeps giving you the sun, the moon, the rain, the stars. What she gets is plastic garbage, used up resources and scars. She gives seeds for food, water and clean air. In return for slaughtered forests, gasoline and people that don’t care. Mountains, beaches, oceans and lakes. She gives and gives and we just take. TVs, computers, cars and phones. Lights are on, but no one’s home. Processed foods with no nutrients. Get a burger for a few cents. Obese children stare at screens while others starve finding ways and means. She’s given so much for us to use. Not for us to just abuse. Be conscious of what you do. Karma is real, it will… get you.

WHO

11″ x 15″ Sharpie on Watercolor Paper

Who is that I hear inside my head? Is it the lives I have lived in the past? Who is that telling me to stop and think? To slow down. To keep calm. Who is that presence I feel? Guiding me. Holding my hand. Walking by my side. Who is that that visits my dreams? Telling me that everything will be fine. Don’t worry. Don’t waste your time. Who are you? Were you me before I was me? Have you… I been here before?

OUT AT THE PARTY

12″ x 24″ Mixed Media on Omega Bond

Remember doing absolutely nothing on the weekends? Remember the parties? Remember Super Bowl at John and Maxine’s? Remember Powder Hollow? Remember Nelson’s, Almeida’s and Larusso’s? Remember paying for 7-Eleven nachos with stolen change? Remember the Chevette? Remember the smoke and listening to ATLiens all the way through? Remember Zima? Remember buying 40’s at Worthington Street when you were 15? Remember when the trash can got stuck under Zaccaro’s Mustang? Remember running from the cops? Remember the days? Remember…?

MY CAGE

12″ x 12″ Mixed Media on Board

In a cage under heavy protection you beat. Over and over again. With the pain of my thoughts you beat. Over and over again. With the fear behind my smiles you beat. With the excitement of my anticipations. With the happiness of my love you beat. In my cage… in my skin. Over and over again. Playing the internal baseline of my life. Taking on all emotion with no worries. You are the only one I’ve got and I wouldn’t trade you for another.

PLEASE

11″ x 15″ Marker on Watercolor Paper

Palms get sweaty in the grip of cold hands. She is so damn fine. His throat breathes hot fire and he wants to say something, but his words will feel as dry as his mouth does. Why did it have to be today? Please… don’t walk my way. Every step is a reminder of every wound of every time she stabbed his back. But she is so damn fine. Her voice in the dark was more powerful than her face in the light of day. Why did it have to be today? Please… don’t walk my way. Please. Reminders of love whispered at the back of his ear. Closed eyes take him to those moments like a time machine. Opened them… and she was gone. Was she ever there? Please… please come back my way.

PEACE

18″ Mixed Media on Wood

All we are saying, is give peace a chance. Put up your signs and put up your hands. If Lennon were here would it all be the same? If Lennon were here would we be so insane? All he was saying was give peace a chance. Bombing our brothers was not in his plans. The words that he chanted were give peace a chance. Give peace… a chance. All we are saying is give peace a chance. If you give it a chance you might start a trend. Keep this thing movin’ and don’t let it end. The movement is needed and needed right now. Give peace a chance, give it right… now.

HI

11″ x 15″ Sharpie on Watercolor Paper

A simple hi and a smile just walked on by. He fell in love for the eleventh time, that day. But she was, is, the one. People watching in the city can give you a sore neck. Sore eyes. A sore heart. He saw their whole life together flash before his eyes by the time she got to the end of the block. Then like life, she was gone. If he only… What if he… But she might have… There might not ever be another chance. Go, the worst that can happen is… nothing. Doing nothing is the worst that could happen. A simple hi, could change the rest of your life.
