MORNING SUN  (SOLD)

16″ x 20″ Aerosol on Canvas

Lots of people flock to the beach to watch the sunset.  I think I’d rather watch it arrive.  It brings the light of a new day filled with something different to us.  I love the morning rays peeking through the window and watching the dust particles that dance on them. There is no doubt I could spend everyday out in the sun.  It’s almost summer and soon we’ll get to spend more time together.

SORRY

24″ x 24″ Watercolor on Wood

He gave her the only thing in this world that means anything.  She tossed it on the floor like a dead squid.  Now she’s mad at him for being mad at her.  She said she was sorry.  He believes her, but wants to let her sweat it out a little first before accepting her apology.

TROIS

12″ x 12″ Aerosol on Canvas

3.  It’s a magic number.  Yes it is.  Well, at least in a Jack Johnson song it is.  In my life it is too.  Part of one of my nick names has 003 in it, because I am the 3rd member of the Husslafunk Mob.  That’s right, I’m in a mob (don’t try to google it, we’re off the grid).  I’m also the 1st of three brothers in my family.  The third time is a charm.  Of course there is more, but I don’t want to fill the page :)

BIFF

8.5″ x 11″ Digital Image and Drawing

Biff.  A great name for a bully.  Who can forget the movie Back to the Future and the character Biff Tannen?  He was the classic bully and was brought to life by actor Thomas F. Wilson.  There’s a piece of movie trivia for ya.  He also played Griff Tannen in Back to the Future II and Buford “Mad Dog” Tannen in Back to the Future III.  This isn’t a drawing of him, but he sure looks like a Biff to me.

WHAT I WANTED

11″ x 15″ Mixed Media on Watercolor Paper

This is not what I wanted to draw.  This is not what I wanted to paint.  Or is it?  Is it the other way around?  This is what I wanted to draw.  This is what I wanted to paint.  I don’t know which I wanted to do or not do, but this is what I came up with.

LINES & DOTS

18″ x 24″ Mixed Media on Canvas

This is a test of the lines and dots system.  First I dropped down some verticals.  Then I crossed over them horizontally.  The grid looked pretty good by itself, but needed a little more.  I put a peg board on top of it and dragged red paint over the board.  This let the red settle into position to finish off Lines & Dots.

YOUNG COCONUTS

18″ x 24″ Digital Image on Metal

If you ‘ve ever been to Maui, HI and been on The Road to Hana, you know about all of its twists and turns.  That road can give you car sickness if you’re on it for too long.  Fortunately for us we stopped along the way and picked up some lunch and snacks.  Fortunately for the “young coconuts” we spared them their lives so they could at least try to grow into adults.

GUARDIANS

24″ x 36″ Aerosol on Canvas

Sometimes I feel like there is something watching over me.  Maybe it’s the spirits of people I used to know in this life.  Maybe they are friends from lives past.  But I know there is something.  Something is watching out for me while I am here.  Thanks guys.

LATE SPRING STORM

30″ x 44″ Mixed Media on Canvas

Where have all of our April showers been?  I know it is early in the spring, but this is a Late Spring Storm.  It’s got nothing on the storms hitting the Midwest right now.  My prayers go out to everyone affected by the tornadoes.  Stay safe and be strong.

WAITING  (SOLD)

24″ x 44″ Mixed Media on Wood

Sometimes surfing is a waiting game.  The ocean can be as flat as glass or crazy rough with waves coming from all directions.  But we wait.  We wait.  And we wait some more.  Because even if we only ride one wave that day, it make that day a whole lot better.
