IN THE TREE
16″ x 20″ Mixed Media on Canvas
I remember climbing trees all the time when I was younger. Testing the limits of each branch while I tried to get as close to the top as I could. If my mom saw this she probably would have had a heart attack. Don’t worry ma, now I play it safe and will just try to paint one here and there.
DREAMIN

I’m really getting into making these faces. I love that they are simple shapes all meshed together to create something. It’s kind of how Chuck Close works. By no means am I comparing myself to Chuck. His work is simple shapes up close and then when you stand back the images appear. My drawings are not on the same scale as his are, but are similar in the way that they evolve.

Mixed Media on Fabric
This the other shirt that I sent down to Georgia for my little bro. My friend Bodley said on the right fabric, in the right store that these shirts could fetch around $100. That would be something, but I’ll leave the sales up to him. I feel like I’m getting robbed paying $12 for a t-shirt. I might buy mine for $11 though.
HOBO ALIEN MOUSE
Digital Image of Drawing & Photo
This drunk little guy is Hobo Alien Mouse. He started as a doodle (in a meeting, obviously) and then got scanned into my files. I had taken the background picture while walking around in Northampton, MA. and combined them for this picture. He may have his vices, but is in search of change… or he just happened to sit down there and was not able to get back up.
DRIFTER
Digital Image of Drawing & Photo
If you know who Rob Machado (my half brother, I think) is then this might remind you of him. It reminded me of him and that is why I call this piece Drifter. Rob starred in the movie The Drifter as himself and for a surfer playing a surfer did a great job. If you haven’t seen it it’s worth the time in my opinion. Anyways, if anyone out there knows Rob and sees this, I ask that you share it with him and let him know that I am still in search of and want to meet my half brother.
CITY TOP
8.5″ x 11″ Sharpie & Pen on Watercolor Paper
At the start of this drawing I was just scribbling some shapes down in red Sharpie and seeing where it would go. I drew a few black lines off of one of the shapes and thought it resembled a building so I ran with it and created this this little city.

Happy Birthday to Robert Nesta Marley!
So, I find an old Bob Marley poster (pic on right) in my art studio and I’ve got no where to put it, because my office is already a Marley museum and Nicole won’t let it hang in the living room The most logical thing I could think to do was to draw on it. But that would be sacrilegious wouldn’t it? I turn on my ipod and get to the Reggae genre and hit shuffle. There are over 1,200 songs on my ipod in the Reggae genre, over 1,200. Which song (Marley fans) do you think pops up first? GUILTINESS by Bob Marley & The Wailers. What the??? I still couldn’t help myself and kept drawing. Thank you Mr. Marley for all the beautiful music, the fight for peace & equality and for inspiring so many people throughout the course of your short life. Your legend will endure beyond this world.
BIRCHES
12″ x 12″ Mixed Media on Canvas
I was in the Dollar Tree the other day looking for things to use as painting tools when I came across this shape. It’s a triangle with a circle cut out of it and is made of wax. They were selling it as a ring crayon for kids. You slide the ring on your finger and then you can draw with it. I’m using it here to create the trunks of trees for my small forrest.
